Frequently asked questions

How do I Register?

All participants need to register individually regardless if they are an individual or team. Please click the below link where you can register and also join the ARTWORKER community. Do note that all team members will need to register. Registration starts from the 01 Mar 2026 and ends on the 12 Jun 2026.

How do I form my Team?

It is recommended that you form your team on your own as at this stage, we have limited capacity to connect participants together.

How much does it cost?

For this inaugural hackathon, we are waiving all the participation fees. However, if you do wish to contribute and give, please reach out to us!

How is my IP protected?

You retain all ownership and copyright to the original video content, creative concepts, characters, and stories you create and submit for the Hackathon. All participants are required to fill up the "EDEFI Hackathon 2026 PARTICIPANTS AGREEMENT & CONTENT LICENSE" after registration is completed.

If I am from another country that is not included, can I also register?

Yes! While there are key participating countries, a participant from any other country can also register and join!

What language will the Hackathon be conducted?

To ensure clarity and fairness for all participants, the primary language for the Hackathon will be English. This applies to all live sessions, workshops, webinars, and written instructions.

We encourage inclusivity in your creations! Therefore, the content of your final submission—including your application, code repository, video demo, and presentation slides—can be in any language you prefer.

Are there any general rules?

All submissions must promote a wholesome, inclusive, and positive narrative appropriate for a universal audience. Content containing explicit sexuality, violence, hate speech, or intentionally divisive themes is prohibited. The EDEFI committee holds the sole discretion to reject any project that fails to meet this standard. This decision is final and binding.

Is this a Faith-Based Event?

While the Hackathon's theme of "wholesome creation" is inspired by positive values found in many traditions, including Christianity, this is not an exclusively Christian event. We warmly welcome participants of all faiths, spiritual backgrounds, and worldviews who share our commitment to building positive, inclusive, and inspiring technology. Our goal is universal creativity, not religious instruction.
